About the Authors
HUDA JAFNI is an avid and accomplished freelance writer who believes snail mailing is not outdated. Switching from studying Science to allow her pursuit in language, she is keenly doing the ‘write’ thing through poetry. Huda Jafni has been featuring her works for the past 8 years on more than 20 printed and media outlets including newspapers, magazines and websites. Her other pieces credentials are participating in anthology projects among Malaysian writers and has experienced scripting a theatrical drama play for public staging. She was an alumni of Minggu Penulis Remaja under Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP). Besides, Huda Jafni has performed in numbers of venues such as Georgetown Festival, Monsters Among Us, Rantai Arts and Word Central in Manchester alongside British prominent literary figures. Among others, she was the winner of Wilayah Aksara poetry slam in 2018. Her latest milestone was to be selected for 2020 I Know I Wish I Will' world's breaking poetry marathon at westend stage London's Criterion Theatre.
IZZATI HARON (or some might call her Zaron) has a knack for words and rap verses. Born on the date when Petronas Twin Towers became the world's tallest buildings, Izzati herself is not that tall. This petite girl from Southern Malaysia has joined numerous open mic events and slam poetry competitions all over Malaysia, including Benl Writers’ Festival 2017, IGNITE Poetry Slam Competition 2018 as well as Rantai Arts Festival 2018. Casually putting her jaw back to where it was, Izzati still couldn't believe that she's made it to the final of the first ever Malaysia National Poetry Slam (MNPS) competition held in conjunction with the Georgetown Literary Festival (GTLF) 2018 and won first place for Wilayah Aksara Poetry Slam Competition 2019, organised by the Faculty of Film, Theatre and Animation (FITA) of UiTM Shah Alam. Not knowing where her poetry journey will take her next nor where this introductory biography of her is going, Izzati prefers to take a nap in the midst of uncertainties in order to live by her dreams and continue dreaming.
