PROFESSOR IBRAHIM BIN MAMAT specializes in the field of Human Resource Development in Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). He is currently the Dean, Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development. Prior to this, he was lecturing in the Center for Extension and Continuing Education, Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (UPM).
He obtained B.Sc. from University of California-Davis (1976), M.Sc.
from Michigan State University (1978), and Ph.D. from Cornell University (1982). He also won the Julian Butterworth Award in New York for the Best Research in the field of Education in Cornell University, 1980
Professor Ibrahim has vast experience in the field of training management. His experiences include training, coordinating, writing and designing various training modules, which were sponsored by KEMAS, the Prime Minister's Department and ASEAN. He was also the Consultant for two years with World Bank for the project in Technical Assistance for Communication Skills and Strengthening of Training Management and Training Needs Assessment for RISDA. He was seconded for three years to work as the Chief Executive Officer for World Youth Foundation in Malacca from 19961999
He has published many articles especially articles on training management in digests, bulletins and magazines in Malaysia. As an academician, he is active in conducting various short courses in motivation, leadership, human development and self-management. He also conducts off-campus courses in training management, training of trainers programs, self-research and thinking skills.
He has led various professional bodies in the field of training an human resource development in Malaysia and also at the international level.
