What is the condition of your books?
Please note that all of our books are secondhand copies except those categorised as Brand New condition. All secondhand books will show signs of wear and use. We grade our books according to the following guidelines:
- Brand New โ Brand new books supplied directly from publishers, distributors or the authors themselves. These books are selling at retail prices.
- Mint – A secondhand copy that looks brand new.
- Like New โ A book that is in great condition โข Could be an unread copy or a gently read secondhand book โข Dust cover is intact โข Pages are clean with no written notations and/or highlighting โข May show remainder marks, early signs of discolouration, minimal foxing on edges or some degree of shelf wear โข May have the previous ownerโs name or dedication on the front page.
ย - Very Good โ A book that is in very good condition โข Could be an unread copy with minor flaws or a gently read secondhand book โข Strong spine with minimal creasing โข Pages may have minimal written notations and/or highlighting โข May show light tanning or foxing on edges and endpapers โข The cover or dust jacket may have slight creases, small tears or shelf wear.
ย - Good โ A well-read copy with reasonable signs of wear โข Significant creases on the spine which may cause loose bindings but no loose pages โข May show light to medium tanning or foxing on the pages, edges and cover but does not interfere with readability โข Pages may include written notations and/or highlighting but not excessive โข May have minor water damage, worn corners, small tear on the cover or dust jackets.
ย - Acceptable โ A well-read copy with significant wear โข All pages are intact โข Cover is intact โข May show medium to heavy tanning or foxing on the pages, edges and cover but does not interfere with readability โข May include considerable written notations and/or highlighting โข May have some warping, water damage or binding damage โข Suitable as a reading copy.
- Last Chance – These books are in less than desirable conditions. Some would have very tanned and worn pages and/or spines but all pages are intact and perfectly readable. We wish to save our books from the fate of getting pulped as much as possible, so we offer them at a low price to the booklovers who won’t mind their conditions.
