What is the condition of your books?

We grade our books according to the following guidelines:

  • Brand New โ€“ Brand new books that are directly from publishers, distributors or the authors themselves. These books are selling at retail prices.
  • Mint – A secondhand copy that looks brand new.
     
  • Like New โ€“ A book that is in great condition โ€ข Could be an unread copy or a gently read secondhand book โ€ข Dust cover is intact โ€ข Pages are clean with no written notations and/or highlighting โ€ข.May show remainder marks, early signs of discolouration, minimal foxing on edges or some degree of shelf wear.
     
  • Very Good โ€“ A book that is in very good condition โ€ข Could be an unread copy with minor flaws or a gently read secondhand book โ€ข Strong spine but might be slightly creased โ€ข Pages may have minimal written notations and/or highlighting โ€ข May show light tanning or foxing on edges and endpapers.
     
  • Good โ€“ A well-read copy with reasonable signs of wear โ€ข Significant creases on the spine which may cause loose bindings but no loose pages โ€ข May show light to medium tanning or foxing on the pages, edges and cover but does not interfere with readability โ€ข Pages may include written notations and/or highlighting but not excessive โ€ข May have minor water damage, worn corners, small tear on cover or dust jackets.
     
  • Acceptable โ€“ A well-read copy with significant wear โ€ข All pages are intact โ€ข Cover is intact โ€ข May show medium to heavy tanning or foxing on the pages, edges and cover but does not interfere with readability โ€ข May include considerable written notations and/or highlighting โ€ข May have some warping, water damage or binding damage โ€ข Suitable as a reading copy. 
  • Clearance – These books are priced to clear often due to their less than a desirable condition or slow-moving titles. Some books are in very good condition while others could be very tanned and worn but all pages intact and perfectly readable. We wish to save our books from the fate of getting pulped as much as possible, so we offer them at a low price to the booklovers who won’t mind their conditions.
     

All books are secondhand except those stated as Brand New and will show signs of wear and use.

Premium Picks

There are some books that we believe are worth more than their conditions due to various reasons: rarity, original price, valuable content, demand, collection value etc. These books are therefore priced according to their worth rather than their condition and are grouped into the category PREMIUM PICKS. The condition of the book is still stated on the product page for reference.

Books that are rejected will be sent for recycling including badly damaged and counterfeit books. We examine and grade every book with care, but if you are not entirely satisfied please get in touch with us via email or PM us on Books n Bobs Facebook page.

What is your returns and refund policy?

If the book you received is damaged or an incorrect item or you are unsatisfied with your order for any reason, please contact our customer service at support@booksnbobs.com. We will be happy to help resolve any issues you may have with your order. If you wish to return a book to us, please contact us within 3 business days from the date of receipt of the book. Items returned as a result of an error on our part will receive a full refund. Items returned to us that was not the result of an error on our part, including items returned due to an invalid or incomplete address, will be refunded the original item price excluding any shipping cost. Once we receive your return, we will promptly issue a refund to the account with which you placed the order. All items will be inspected upon return, we ask that you please make sure the books are packed carefully to avoid any damage in transit.

Can I add more items to an order I already submitted?

Once an order is submitted and paid for, there is no way to add more books or make any changes. However, you can always start a new order. We have no limit to the number of orders you may place. If you placed a second order within the same day, we can even ship your orders together if the first order has not been shipped yet. Kindly leave a note in your order if you would like us to ship your orders together.

Is there a COD option?

Unfortunately, we do not offer any COD option. However, you can choose to self-collect your orders from our office in Taman Desa, KL after payment is made. Please choose “Self Collection” after filling in your address on the checkout page.

You will receive an email notification once your order is ready for collection. Kindly make an appointment with our customer support for your book collection.

All self-collection orders must be collected within 30 days from the date of order. Please be advised that orders which are not collected within 30 days from this email will be resold & no refund will be given. If you are not able to pick up within 30 days, do contact us to arrange for courier options.

Why is it taking so long to receive my order?

Unfortunately, we have no control over how long it takes the mail carrier to deliver your package once it leaves our hands. We process and ship out most of our packages within 3 business days. A tracking number will be sent by email once your order is shipped, together with a link for tracking. We advise that you track your parcel on the courier company’s website. For orders shipped by registered post, giving your local post office a call can help expedite delivery.

What are the payment methods do you offer?

We are using payment gateway Payex which accepts payment via credit cards, debit cards, online transfer (FPX*) from major banks, and also e-wallets i.e. Touch n Go and GrabPay.

We understand that sometimes, you need to consider your purchase decision. However, we sell mainly second-hand books and we often have only one or very limited copies available at any given time. It will be unfair if we allow the books to be reserved for an extended period of time while there may be other buyers eager to get the same books. If you do not pay for your order in 2 hours after checking out, we assume that you have changed your mind and your order will be canceled and the books โ€œput back on the shelfโ€.

What is FPX*?

It is a real-time online payment gateway that facilitates interbank transfer of funds whenever customers make payment for their online purchases or bill payments and for business you can start accepting payments and in return allows you to sell and grow your business more.

Customers need only their Internet Banking accounts to make payments whenever they shop at online stores or websites. For businesses, all you need to do is to have a corporate Internet Banking account and you can start accepting payments for transactions made by your customers. All transactions and payments are secure and real-time.
