This issue of the Asia Pacific Media Educator contains research articles and commentaries on the implications of new communication technology for contemporary journalism and democracy; the challenges that Internet activists face with new legislations introduced by governments since the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001; and journalism education strategies.Discussions delve into the use of Internet as a tool for teaching and learning, and for dissent in an otherwise heavily censored media environment, and the implications of anti-terrorism legislation for freedom of expression and privacy.
