Corporate governance can often seem like a dry subject. Of course, we don't think it is but as you will see from this book, we are a bit unusual!
Through our many years of involvement in the topic of corporate governance, we have come across many situations, either first hand or through experiences shared by others with us, that can be better told through cartoons than through words. Some situations are funny to begin with, while others are serious but provide the perfect material for a cartoon.
We have also been constantly thinking about how to make the subject more interesting and to be able to lighten up what is fundamentally a very serious subject. We have started to use some of these cartoons in our commentaries and teaching, and readers and participants seem to enjoy them. Participants in our programmes become much more engaged and lively when they look at some of our cartoons, all of which have a serious, hard centre, hopefully enclosed in a soft and appealing coating of humour.
Our hope is that this little offering will enhance awareness and stimulate readers to think and talk about corporate governance which impacts the lives of us all.
