Description

It is now over eighty-six years since the first edition of the text book "Diseases of the Skin Including the Exanthemata" by Dr. Frederick M. Dearborn was conceived and published. During these eight long decades the vistas of dermatology have spread far and wide, and vast experience has been gained in the field of homoeopathic therapeutics of dermatology. Results are obvious. Ideas have crystallised. Practice can be separated from theoretical hypothesis and investigative tools, as chaff from grain. It is sad to mention that during these eighty-six long years not a single book was published of such a kind on homoeopathic therapeutics of dermatology. Also what interests me the most is that to-day about twenty to twenty-five per cent of total cases that come for homoeoapthic consultation have dermatological disease and still we have no reference book on homoeopathic therapeutic of dermatology which presents clearly and concisely the subject of dermatology. It has been my aim in the succeeding pages to present the subject matter in a comprehensive manner with stress on etiology, symptomatology, pathology, diagnostic aids, differential diagnosis, miasmatic interpretation, homoeopathic approach, clinical cases and cases from old homoeopathic journals. In the preparation of the text, I have heavily relied on experience, suggestions and assistance of my colleagues all over India and abroad.I hope this first edition of homoeopathic therapeutics of dermatology will help the students, homoeopathic practitioners and dermatologists who are interested in practising homoeopathy to understand the vast subject of skin diseases and thereby render skilled, efficient and yeoman service to the suffering humanity.
