In this collection, Martin Kenner and James Petras have selected those speeches of Fidel Castro's that they feel most clearly define the Cuban "road to communism." The speeches range from the one on coun- terrevolution, given on October 26, 1959, to the 26th of July speech of 1968, and they are arranged, not in chronological order, but in sections designed to reveal aspects of Castro's developing revolutionary thinking.
Mr. Kenner has supplied an Introduction to the book as well as a short note on each speech, in order to set it in its historical perspective and help the reader under- stand the circumstances under which it was delivered.
