Description
The need for First Aid training is greater than ever. Populations are growing throughout the world, and the increased use of mechanical and electrical appliances in everyday use, at home, at work and at play, placรฉs more and more people at risk of injury.
There is thus an evergrowing demand for First Aid training for personal use, quite apart from the demand for Certificated First Aiders as part of industrial and commercial establishments.
The Authorised Joint First Aid Manual of the three Voluntary Aid Societies sets out to provide the material for instructional courses to achieve proficiency certificates. It is an instructional Manual and work of reference designed to meet the needs of those with a serious interest in First Aid training, who require an acknowledged qualification.
Great care has been taken in the preparation of the 3rd edition, to obtain the views of the widest spread of First Aid users, and this has involved consultation with leading authorities in all fields, both at home and abroad, so as to make the work as universally acceptable as is possible. For all this help the Voluntary Aid Societies are much indebted. They recognise that it is impossible to produce a work in any field which will secure the immediate and unreserved approval of all readers, and First Aid is no exception. But at the same time, it is hoped that it will be recognised that great care has been taken to evaluate the material considered by the Revision Committee, and that as comprehensive a view as is consistent with clear teaching has been applied.
