Description
This book is not intended to be a summary of research in different areas; it seems to me that the student can develop an appreciation for research only by going to original experimental reports published in contemporary journals. The book is not intended to be a statistics text, although two chapters have been included which deal with basic statistical procedures in the light of certain decisions the experimenter makes. Finally, although the book does not propose a philosophy of science, several important philosophical issues are critically explored; for example, the problem of operationism and the nature of measurement and scaling.
