Description
From Exclusion to Inclusion is a detailed account of the evolution of Nepal's legal regime in the aftermath of the People's Movement II and the end of the Maoist insurgency in 2006. It traces the changes introduced in the law to achieve the overall objective of greater political and social inclusion of the hitherto-marginalised groups. The focus initially is on the Interim Constitution of 2007 before shifting to the deliberations in the two Constituent Assemblies and the promulgation of the 2015 Constitution followed by the enactment or amendment of a number of laws for a federal Nepal. The book concludes by outlining the challenges remaining to be addressed in order to realise the goal of a fully inclusive Nepal.ISBN: 9789937119825
