Funeral Flowers is a collection of contemporary poems about the throes of growing up and not knowing enough to make the right decisions; thus leading us to grief. Most poems are written through melancholy and some through exploratory writing when discovering about oneself. Bio: Hew Kong Jun (KJ) is a Malaysian-born English teacher and just like any other angsty teenagers, he found it difficult to express his emotions properly until he discovered the art of writing when he had to go through a difficult heartbreak. In 2019, he coached his students in the Sunway National Poetry Slam Competition (SNaPS) and his students managed to emerge as champions under the group category. This further propelled KJ to complete his writing and after 10 years of writing and juggling with everything in between life, 'Funeral Flowers' was born.
