Societies, like organisms, develop certain characteristics that make further evolution impossible. At that point hallowed institutions and sacred ways of thinking have to be replaced with more positive ways. Our ancient negativity has to go.

De Bono coins the term 'logic-bubbles' as a sort of mental notation. He also focuses attention on the all important 'edge-effect' and suggests that it may be difficult to journey North if we are never prepared to turn South.
