Description

This book is a sequel to my first, There Are No Secrets. Like the previous book it is about my teacher, the great Cheng Man-ch'ing, the art of Tai Chi Chuan, and my experience as a student and teacher.

Professor Cheng said that Tai Chi was useful for health, relaxation, and self defense, in that order of importance. Once on the path we began to understand that overriding all the benefits is that Tai Chi Chuan is a tao, a way of living.

Cheng Man-ch'ing died in 1975. Due to his transcendent ability and radiant spirit his Simplified Yang-Style Tai Chi, the so-called "short form," is very popular in Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore among other places. Additionally, because of Professor Cheng's role as a fountainhead for Tai Chi in this country, his is the most widely practiced style of Tai Chi Chuan in the United States and continues to grow in popularity as more people become aware of its benefits.

Professor said that if he had to choose one of all the arts and sciences he practiced, it would be Tai Chi, because "it has the most to do with relating to people." In that spirit, I hope to provide a tool that can help the internal exploration of those who study not only Tai Chi Chuan but all the arts based on the principle of being soft, loving, and peaceful.
