The stories in this collection have been selected and adapted by Graeme Kent, a primary school headmaster who has also been a producer of children's programmes for the BBC, and education consultant to six Third World nations. He is the author of over sixty books, published in a dozen different countries, and hundreds of television and radio scripts. His text-book series Journey into Books (Cassell) is used as an introduction to children's literature in many primary and middle schools.
