Description
The evolution of a sensitive, yet effective, policy towards its South Asian siblings constitutes one of the pivotal challenges confronting Indian diplomacy. India and South Asia is an exploratory exercise which seeks to highlight the issues, problems and pitfalls as also the potential and prospects for creating a better regional scenario. Despite a variety of limitations and especially the complexities generated by the Indo-centric nature of the region, the contributions in this volume emphasize that the impasse presently gripping South Asia is mercifully not an immutable phenomenon.
The sixteen articles contained in this collection would be useful to those interested in international relations and developing societies in general and observers of South Asian affairs in particular. The seminal significance and social relevance of the theme, of course, need no elaboration.
