Laos is an LDC (Least Developed Country), an LLDC (Landlocked Least Developed Country) and an HIPC (Highly Indebted Poor Country)
It aims to leave all of these acronyms behind it and graduate to Middle Income Country by 2020. To do so, it must show sustainable development in terms of:
- Economy - Gross National Income per capita
- Welfare - education, governance, health & rights
- Non-vulnerability trade relations, debt, infrastructure, & ability to respond to emergencies
This book considers work in progress to meet these goals. Will Laos reach its goals in time?
