Description

A major contribution of the first edition of this text was to define the scope or domain of management information systems. The text was very well received by the information systems academic community. It was used across a wide variety of courses ranging from introductory undergraduate courses to graduate seminars. The reason for the diversity of use is the unique contribution of the book. It is a conceptual study of information systems in organizations, and therefore the material can be surveyed at an introductory level or explored in more depth in a graduate seminar. The first edition was identified as a "classic" in the field in a study of information systems books and journals.
