Description
The country profile was prepared as an overview of the 50 years and over population in Malaysia and the health care system. It introduced the historical and social economic background of the country as part of Integrated Response of the Health Care System to Rapid Population Ageing in Developing Countries under the auspices of the World Health Organization, WHO Centre for Health Development, Kobe Japan.
The report is divided into seven sections categorised into three broad themes; macro-social influences health and ageing, social characteristics and the life of older people in the community and the systems of health care and service delivery in Malaysia.
