This anthology of poems is reflective of the creative talent of the staff and students of The Faculty of Languages and Communication. The thematic concern of the poems varies from individual ruminations and meditations about the self to reflections on issues that affect humanity at the societal and even global level. It is, therefore, fitting for the anthology to be titled Poetry of Life- Ecstasies and Anxieties as a manifestation of those ponderings.
The publication of this poetry anthology is also meant to serve as a platform for students and staff to bring out their creative writings for the general readership. This practice intends to promote the idea that to write creatively and to publish the works are not the exclusive rights of established writers only. Even students and recreational writers should given the chance to prove themselves. It is hoped that for those who are truly talented publication will prove to be their launching ground to future literary stardom. And it this only time will tell.
