Description
A brief but terrible war in the Middle East- and the world's oil supply is gone. The lights go out across the world.
In England electricity is rationed to a few hours every day- and then even that goes. Medical supplies dwindle to the barest minimum-the few hospitals still open are overcrowded. Schools no longer have the heating and light to take in children, who roam the streets with knives. Looting and random killings become commonplace and the suicide rate is soaring.
During the deepening crisis the Government struggles to maintain control but is challenged by strong rival factions for power. Civil violence and assassination break out.
Caught in the midst of the social upheaval are Michael, a doctor, and Rae, a teacher. Together they search for a new way-to find, along with millions of others, hope and a new way of life in the Darkness.
