Description
This series of books provides background material for elementary science courses. Whilst each book is arranged in attractive and accessible double-page units, each double page ends with a list of cross references to other sections in the book and to sections in other books in the series. These signposts enable the user of the books to see the relationships between different areas of scientific study.
The text on each double page is short and easy to follow because of the many subheadings. Difficult words are explained in boxes on the appropriate page. The illustrations consist of interesting, up-to-date photographs of the real world and strikingly detailed drawings and diagrams.
A page of project suggestions at the back of each book provides a more active way of using the information. Each book also has a Time Scale of Scientific Discovery and Invention relating to its subject, a Book List and Index.
