Description

A must-read story of the officer cadets in the early 1960s, their adventures, trials, tribulations, and struggles to be commanders in the Military. Told in a humourous, readable style that will keep you on your toes from page to page.

- How an unfortunate junior cadet was punished when a cockroach flew too close to the face of a howling senior during ragging season.

- The colourful personalities who made the College tick with life, pressure and humour.

- The time when a determined Dayak cadet decided to lop off the head of a senior.

- Overland adventure trip to Bangkok and the amusing incidents when cadets from 2 different cultures met for the first time.

- The scaling of Gunong Tahan and the eerie mysterious appearance of the silent limping man walking through the tents of the cadets in the middle of the night half way up the jungle-covered mountain.

- And many more memorable incidents and actions underwent by the intrepid cadets.

I should like to congratulate the author, Lt-Col (Retd) Leslie Terh, a fellow 7th Intake mate, for bringing out the book and reflecting so vividly, and might I add humourously, the antics, trials, tribulations, and ultimately the triumph of the cadets during their stay in FMC. - Lt.Gen (retd) Dato Nawi Alias.

I congratulate Leslie Terh for writing this lighthearted and very readable narrative of his cadet days...I find the accounts and episodes...most interesting. They have helped to jog some fond memories, as I was myself a graduate of FMC (4th Intake) -Lt-Gen (retd) Winston W.L. Choo

Very interesting reading - Col (retd) John Morrice (Singapore Armed Forces, and graduate of 2nd FMC Intake).

While going through your draft, I could not only visualize all the scenes that took place more that 35 years ago, but I could even hear the shouting and yelling of the seniors - and their loud commotion - that were staged for the sole purpose of tormenting and harassing us (the juniors). There was also the familiar aroma of Kiwi and Brasso in the air. Col (retd) Yusoff Ali (Malaysian Armed Forces and former college-mate of the author).
