Description
The Doctrines and Practice of Nichiren Shoshu is core reading for understanding the teachings and practice of Buddhism.n the twenty-eighth day of the third and fourth month of 1253, at the age of 32, our Master, Nichiren Daishonin, established True Buddhism, based on the great Law of Nam-Mycho- Reng Kyo from the eternal past of Kum-ganjo. This auspicious year marks the 750 anniversary of the establishment of True Buddhism and the declaration of such establishment by the Daishonin
Since then, until this day, the Dai-Gohonzon of the High Sanctuary of True Buddhism, which represents the core essence of True Buddhism, the Three Great Secret Laws of Nichiren Daishonin and the Three Treasures of the Essential Teaching (Honmon) of the Buddhism of the Sowing of Nichiren Daishonin have all been solemnly and strictly upheld by Nichiren Shoshu at Taisekiji, our Head Temple. The Daishonin transferred the Lifeblood Her- itage of the entirety of True Buddhism to the Second High Priest Nikko Shonin. It has, in turn, been transferred to the successive High Priests, based on the transmission of the Lifeblood Heritage, through a process that can be likened to water being entirely transferred from one vessel to another. Thus, along with the entity of the Law, the entirety of the Lifeblood Transmission of Nichiren Daishonin's True Buddhism was completely transferred to our current Sixty-seventh High Priest, Nikken Shonin. For this reason, Nichiren Shoshu is the one and only denomination that correctly upholds the True Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin, and as such, it can promote global Kosen- rufu and happiness, peace, and stability in the lives of all humanity.
