Dr. V.H. Merani, who is as old as 87 years, though originally belonging to the modern system of medicine, has spent his time especially after he retired as a Medical Officer in Defence Deptt., in the practice of Homoeopathic Medicine. In this book he has brought out well balanced information regarding Homoeopathic principles of practice and his experiences of various cases which are to his credit.
The way in which the subjects are arranged in the book with practical guidance at each step are very educational. Symptomatology, well analysed into causes, concomitants, sensation and modalities along with a list of drugs with their special indications pertaining to various complaints, make this work a rich source of ready reference for a busy practitioner. The work has been already guiding the practitioners in three charitable dispensaries in Delhi and there is no reason why it cannot help other practitioners also. The approach to treatment is not only symptomatological but in terms of modern pathology as well, and this is advantageous in the interest of our colleagues of the other systems of Medicine, who are interested in Homoeopathy and whose number is growing.
