Description
Fourteen years have passed since the cataclysmic events which brought to an end Cai's faith in magic as a force in nature. Now, his beloved pupil Gemma finds that the benevolent world which contains Cai and her family is no longer enough for her.
Turning her back on her royal heritage and on the convictions of those she holds dear, she makes the dangerous journey to the recently discovered South Lands, in a desperate search for enlightenment.
For Gemma is sure that magic still lives, but has no proof. No one will take her seriously, not even Arden, the sceptical adventurer who joins forces with her, but who scoffs at her beliefs.
