Rick Riddell initially conceived the idea of uniting students around the world through the power of the written word. This idea came to fruition five years ago, with the production of the first edition of The World Book, showcasing student writing from eight international schools in South-East Asia. It is a fitting tribute to his sense of internationalism and passion for encouraging creativity that over two hundred students in more than thirty countries have participated in the project over the past five years. This edition exhibits the best of previous publications, and also introduces us to more wonderfully talented new writers.
