Description
In April, 1984, the first Mid-Central Ergonomics Human Factors Conference was held in Cincinnati, U.S.A. The purpose of this conference was to bring together researchers and practitioners for an informal exchange of ideas. Eighty scientific and technical papers were presented during the two-day conference. Subsequent to the conference, selected individuals were invited to contribute their papers for inclusion in this book. The papers were selected on the advice of a committee which consisted of twelve researchers. Each paper was reviewed by at least three committee members. The papers appearing in this book cover a broad range of topics. The areas covered include:
Attention and Vigilance
Biomechanics
Human-Computer Interaction
Human Performance and Cognitive Processes
Manual Materials Handling
Operational Problems
Performance Analysis
Safety
Training
Work-Station Design
Many other topics are included under the general heading.
This book, as a whole, should be useful to researchers, educators, practitioners, and stu dents of ergonomics and human factors. Of the fifty-nine papers, some are the state-of the-art papers; others describe new models, concepts, and methodologies or provide design data. ISBN:9780444876591
