Description
Max has a dog named King with soft reddish fur and a great plume of a tail. King attacks only bad guys, like the third-grade bully, Nick Berger. He's there whenever Max wants him to be. He's the only friend Max needs.
Except he isn't. King isn't real. But ever since his parents' divorce and his move to a new home and school, Max is handling the changes the only way he knows how: by having wonderful adventures in his imagination. Then Max happens upon a store called Wishworks, Inc., which promises his wish will come true โguaranteed,โ and of course he asks for a real dog. But when Max gets just what he wishes for, it may be a little more real than he expects!
