Words of Light began as a personal note- book. It chronicles an intimate journey with poets, philosophers, and prophets whose thoughts added to my life as if they were my own friends. Recorded in this book are a few of my favorites, in which I have discovered a special strength and comfort from time to time.The quotations are a collection of folk, liter- ary, and biblical writings; sayings and expressions from the Eastern religions, including Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism; and gleanings from the American Indian faiths. They also include musings of the thinkers of the ages, from Confucius to Saint Augustine to Ralph Waldo Emerson. Their words are the bearers of a different kind of light, which opens what is closed. I hope that some of them will prove to be a torch for you as well.
The words are illustrated in illuminated color calligraphy, which enhances their beauty yet only begins to convey their insight. I hope you agree, and find as much inspiration from them as I have.
