Epitomizing the dramatic new developments in Japanese photography emerging in the 1990s, Yuki Onodera is an internationally recognized photographer known for her mysterious and richly suggestive work. Based in Paris, Onodera focuses on the act of photography itself and has demonstrated a creative process driven by highly original and often fantastic ideas. Eighty works from her first nine series-including "Portrait of Second-hand Clothes"-were published in Camerachimera (Suiseisha), which won the 28th Kimura Ihei Memorial Award of Photography in 2003.
